La Mécanique des décisions I

La Mécanique des décisions I vidoo, 11’’40’ Artificial intelligence is programmed to analyse a video shot on a farm in Franche-Comté. The artefacts created take up and robotise the mechanical movements of farm workers, reducing them to simple gestures. The project unfolds in a capitalist world that it questions, where technology is taking an ever-greater place in the world of work. These robots are only there to increase profits and make workers dependent on new technologies that are technically impossible for them to take over. Farmers now find themselves dependent on the industrialists who create and control these machines and their software: without the latter, the machines can do nothing.

The authors show that the belief in robots that can do everything is indeed a myth, while the replacement by machines in order to have the upper hand, economically and strategically speaking. it, is very real. So we know for whom and why these robots are being created, no longer to help workers but to reinforce their dependence on ever more powerful multinationals.
